Helium 10 Academy, Blog and Training: What's Free and What's Paid

Helium 10 Academy is free. Its seven video courses on Helium 10’s own tools cost nothing at academy.helium10.com; only the certification exam is paid. On 10 October 2026, several courses still taught tools Helium 10 has retired or renamed. The Helium 10 blog and podcasts are free too, while Freedom Ticket and Ads Academy come with Helium 10’s paid plans, from Platinum at $99 a month billed yearly.

What Helium 10 Academy is

Helium 10 Academy is Helium 10’s free school for its own software. The Academy page says “Enroll Today For Free” and sends you to academy.helium10.com, a separate course site with its own sign-up. Helium 10 says every class is taught by “a Helium 10 approved expert” and includes exercises, activities and quizzes, and that passing the final exam makes you “a certified Helium 10 Software user”.

These are the seven courses in the catalog on 10 October 2026, with the tools each course description names:

Lessons are short videos. In the course curricula, “Installing and Touring Helium 10’s Chrome Extension” runs 5:56 and can be previewed before you enroll, “Magnet Overview” runs 9:44 and “Keyword Tracker Overview” 9:24. The pages of the six tool courses encourage students to repeat lessons before moving on or taking the exam.

The certification exam is the paid part

The certification exam is sold as its own course: a practice exam, the exam itself, then the certificate. Helium 10 pitches it at independent sellers, virtual assistants and agency staff who want to show they know the software. The exam page lists it at $77 before tax; with 21% EU VAT added, it showed $93.17 (checked 10 October 2026).

Some lessons teach tools Helium 10 has retired

This is the catch. The Academy’s course pages haven’t kept up with the software:

• Trendster, Misspellinator and Inventory Protector were sunset on 30 September 2025.
• Frankenstein was renamed Keyword Processor (help-center notice, 4 December 2025).
• Adtomic, the name the Marketing course’s lessons still use, is now Helium 10 Ads.
• Portals no longer has its own product page: the old one redirects to Helium 10’s Advertising tools page.
• The Academy’s bundle page still shows its course platform’s template text, including “Hi, I’m [Your Name Here]”.

Treat the Academy as a primer on the core tools that haven’t changed name (Black Box, Cerebro, Magnet, the Chrome extension, Keyword Tracker and Profits), and check current menus in the help center or our guide to Helium 10’s tools.

Correction (10 October 2026): an earlier version of this page called the Academy “always current”, with new videos soon after each tool release. Its course pages still teach tools Helium 10 retired or renamed in 2025.

The Helium 10 blog

Helium 10’s blog is free to read without an account. On 10 October 2026 it ran to 69 pages of posts, going back to August 2016. Alongside the newest posts it keeps two evergreen guides: “Your Guide to Selling on Amazon”, with posts tagged Beginner, Intermediate or Expert, and “Your Guide to Selling on Walmart.com”.

What it covers now: 11 of the 12 newest posts, published between 12 August and 2 October 2026, are about Helium 10’s MCP connector, which lets AI assistants such as Claude query Helium 10 data, or about Helium, its new AI agent. That makes the blog a good place to learn those features, and a sales channel for them at the same time, so check any plan or price it mentions against Helium 10’s pricing page.

Seven of those 12 posts carry Lauren Stair’s byline. Three are by Raeanna Murray, an associate product marketing manager, one is by Bradley Sutton and one by guest author Himanshu Gaba, founder of Sellerview.ai. Sutton’s author box calls him Helium 10’s “VP of Education and Strategy”, while the blog’s 2026 posts quote him as “Chief Evangelist”. Older guides carry bylines from Carrie Miller, “Principal Brand Evangelist”, and copywriter Josh VanAkker.

Helium 10’s podcasts and webinars

The Serious Sellers Podcast is Helium 10’s main show; its page promises “weekly stories and strategies from top e-commerce sellers”. Episode 767 was published on 29 September 2026, and episode 768 was the newest on 10 October. The same page lists a Spanish edition, Weekly Buzz (e-commerce news and Helium 10’s new features) and the AM/PM Podcast, the show Helium 10 says it grew out of. The Webinar Hub lists weekly customer-success sessions, such as Diamond onboarding and office hours, and a library of recorded webinars, some from 2020.

Training that comes with a paid plan

Inside Helium 10, all training sits in the Courses drop-down of the dashboard: Freedom Ticket, webinars, TikTok training, the Learning Hub, Ads Academy, Exit Ticket and the Academy (help center, 27 March 2026). The Learning section of Helium 10’s pricing table ties three of them to specific plans.

Helium 10 Ads Academy

Ads Academy is a seven-module course on Amazon advertising: fundamentals, targeting and placements, keyword research, campaign structure, Amazon’s ad console versus Helium 10 Ads (formerly Adtomic), bid optimization, and negative targeting. Helium 10 says it replaced the older PPC Academy and “is included with all Platinum and above plans at no extra cost”. The named experts are Bradley Sutton and Destaney Wishon, CEO and co-founder of the agency BTR Media. The public Ads Learning Hub built around it is mostly tutorials, case studies and FAQs for Helium 10 Ads.

Freedom Ticket

Freedom Ticket is Helium 10’s course on building an Amazon business: nine video modules hosted by Kevin King, plus more than 10 bonus modules from guest experts. Exit Ticket

Academy or Freedom Ticket: which do you need?

They answer different questions. The Academy teaches the software: how Black Box filters turn up product ideas, or how Cerebro pulls a competitor’s keywords. Freedom Ticket teaches the business: choosing a product, sourcing it, building the listing, launching and managing the money. Ads Academy covers advertising.

If you’re still deciding whether to buy Helium 10, start with the free Academy introduction course and the blog. If you already pay for Platinum, Freedom Ticket and Ads Academy are included, so there’s nothing extra to buy.

Is Helium 10 Academy worth your time?

Yes, if you’re about to use Helium 10 and want a free, structured walkthrough of the core research tools. Start with the introduction course, then product research and keyword research, and keep the help center open for anything renamed since the videos were recorded.

Skip the certificate unless a client or employer asks for one.
